News Flash: Prisoner on the Loose

Please be on the lookout for a Caucasian female, 5’0, blonde hair, brown eyes, perfectionist, and over-achiever who has escaped. Authorities are trying to figure out how she planned her escape route after nearly 39 years of being imprisoned by her thoughts, ideas, and expectations. She was expected to post on Tuesday, March 1, 2016, the first day of the writing challenge, yet no post was located. Authorities have reported that she just completed a long-term goal which may have encouraged her to break free. Although she was never one to turn down a challenge or neglect striving for perfection, she just may have figured out that it is time to stop and smell the roses, and she no longer must be bound by any walls, rules, or expectations. Those that know her might find this surprising and may even report that perhaps she is off her meds which may have lead to this crazy thought process and escape. Yet, those that will encounter her will most likely find her alive and well, loving life, feeling accomplished, and enjoying time with her family. If you think you have seen her, please approach her and congratulate her on breaking free, for this is the biggest accomplishment in her life. Carpe Diem!

Enjoy Life

  1. Oh how I love this. Congratulations! This slice here is so smart.
“being trapped by her own thoughts, ideas, and expectations.” pure gold right there, and I, for one, am glad that you broke free. Enjoy it. 🙂

  2. Love the start of your post! It drew me right in.

Delighted you’re back and Slicing with us again this year. Remember, as long as you start by 3/5 (and write the rest of the month), then you’re in it. 🙂

  3. Yeah baby! Woo hoo! Two congratulations are in order…one for the obvious hard work and dedication for the DR. degree. The other – equally important – the ability to write today even though Day One was missed. You really ARE breaking free of those chains that bind you to rule following! Nicely done – and funny – and creative too!

    Love, Mom

  5. Hilarious! I admire so much about your writing…your creativity, descriptive language, emotion… So excited to have you back again to read your slices!!! 🙂

  6. Congratulations, Dr. Crotty! I hope that this accomplishment allows you the opportunity to spend time with your beautiful family and gives you more roses to smell!
